Travel Updates

17 March 2020

It is with great regret that we inform you the 17th ITS Asia Pacific Forum has been postponed.

It has become clear that ITS Asia Pacific Forum 2020 cannot be hosted as planned in May. With the rapid changes in the environment from COVID-19, Australian Government restrictions around travel and large gatherings and ITS Australia wanting to ensure the health and wellbeing of participants.

We are committed to delivering the event and we are currently working to secure new dates for the Forum before mid-2021.

We understand that this change may be inconvenient for many of you in the industry and we are sincerely sorry. We appreciate your support and understanding.

Further information will be provided as it becomes available.

In advance of the 17th ITS Asia Pacific Forum, ITS Australia is closely monitoring the evolution of the COVID-19 (Novel coronavirus) situation and is following advice from the Australian Government Department of Health and the World Health Organisation. We are also working closely with the Queensland State Government.

Planning for the Forum continues and we are adjusting the plans for the event accordingly. We are working with the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre to ensure that the availability of hand sanitation stations is far greater than normal, as is the standard of bathroom sanitation. These same measures will be taken at any other venues where Forum activities are planned. Our partner hotels will have written notices in place advising guests how to respond should they present with any potential symptoms.

Considering current travel bans, we are also working to provide the ability for international speakers, who are unable to travel, to participate in the program virtually. This will ensure that, if those bans remain in place, the event will continue without a significantly diminished program and without risk to attendees.

We will continue to modify our plans for the Forum, and work with our vendors, suppliers, partners, and sponsors to ensure that the event is delivered safely and successfully. As the situation evolves ITS Australia will provide regular updates and will communicate openly with all stakeholders on our website.
