Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary

Situated within the Brisbane suburb of Fig Tree Pocket, Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is home to over 130 koalas since 1927, it’s the oldest and largest koala sanctuary in the world! While conservation of koalas was the Sanctuary’s initial goal it has accumulated several other animals over the years. You’ll get to see and learn about dingos, Tasmanian devils, bats, echidnas, wombats and even the ever shy platypus. You can even get a photo taken as you cuddle a koala. Myer which is located on Queen Street Mall and is a premier shopping destination for luxury and high street brands. George Street, located at the end of the mall, is another great location and is home to the Treasury Casino.
Jellurgal Aboriginal Culture tours

Jellurgal Tours includes an informative overview in the “Dreaming Amphitheatre”. You begin your Jellurgal trek with a live Aboriginal Dance Performance and ochre anointment, performed by traditional custodians of the Yugambeh Language Group . Visit the midden and other significant Aboriginal sites along the way. The Jellurgal trek takes one hour but there is an option to return to the Centre at the Midden, 15 minutes into the tour.
